Faith And The Faker
Description
A man living on a remote island where there are no doctors somehow—perhaps through faith—performs miracles for the sick. However, he can do nothing for his wife who has needed a wheelchair for years. His love for her is unswerving, but there is a secret about himself he has never told her.
When Jonathan Mather's dubious cures give him a reputation as a miracle worker on a remote island, he is forced to confront the limits of his abilities – and the guilt over his own wife's paralysis – while watching the desperate search for faith that drives so many of his patients.
On a distant island, Jonathan Mather becomes known as a healer who can work miracles, but his treatments don't really work. As people keep coming to him for help, he must face the truth about what he can and cannot do, while dealing with his shame over not being able to cure his own wife's paralysis.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
