Janet Pendennis asks the police to locate her husband, Robert, an accountant who always came home every night after work but now has been missing for two days. The only clue she has is a piece of blank note paper on which the pressure of Robert’s pen has left a clear indentation of an address. However, when they visit the address, which turns out to be a one-room apartment of an elderly lady, Janet and the police find only evidence of a fierce fight, an empty picture frame and Robert’s tie clasp.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
