Description

In the drawing rooms of an affluent American home, Marcella navigates the ambitions of her stern father, J.J. Trelawney, and her own heart's desires. Her father proposes an Arctic expedition for the two men who love her, and after J.J. disappears, she struggles with conflicting emotions about the men's rivalry and the truth behind her father's diary.

In the fancy rooms of a wealthy American house, Marcella deals with her tough father J.J. Trelawney's big plans and what she really wants. Her father suggests that the two men who love her should go on a trip to the Arctic, and when J.J. goes missing, she fights with mixed feelings about the men competing for her and the secrets hidden in her father's diary.

Marcella Trelawney, living in 1912, is ordered by her rich father, J.J., to marry his business associate, William Stillman. But she loves Edward Wilson, an astronomer. To help him decide who should have her hand, J.J. asks Wilson and Stillman to accompany him on a trip to the Arctic, rugged enough to test any man. J.J., testing himself, disappears in a blizzard. Wilson finds him, frozen to death, and his diary, which contains his decision on who should marry Marcella.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
