First Woman in Space

Description

Astronaut Margo Gordon, a heroine after her successful Athena One flight, suffers, for some strange reason, from the heat—although it’s midwinter. She now also has the strength of ten men. Her body chemistry has changed. And she keeps hearing a voice saying, “Our planet is gone. I survive in this body.” She knows she must rid herself of this alien force or else she’ll never qualify for Athena Two.

A female astronaut named Margo Gordon comes back from space with an alien creature inside her body. Her boyfriend tries to help her become normal again, but she has to battle the alien to stay herself in this scary story about space travel.

In this tense drama about man's conquest of space, a girl astronaut, Margo Gordon, returns from her first mission to find herself haunted by an alien presence which has merged with her. Despite her fiancé's frantic efforts to bring her back to normality, she must fight the alien in a desperate struggle for her identity.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
