Flower of Evil

Description

Widower Jethro Procter’s claim at Sutter’s Mill provided everything he could want, except a wife. Despite his son Ethan’s resistance, he marries a mail-order bride, Amanita Drysdale, of Salem, Massachusetts. The lovely young woman accepts the grizzled miner without a complaint, but skeptical Ethan soon notices some bizarre changes in campsite routines.

A woman who agreed to marry through the mail meets a father and his son. When she discovers she must wed the rough old gold miner rather than his handsome young boy, trouble breaks out.

A mail-order-bride learns is met by a father and son tandem. When it is revealed that she is to be married to the grizzled old prospector instead of his strapping young son, chaos ensues.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
