Garden of the Moon

Description

Yolanda Westerville finds her frayed nerves pleasantly restored by a skin cream available only at a new health store, Garden of the Moon. The proprietor, Dr. Lunestra, claims his products derive their power from moonlight. Westerville’s chemists say this is impossible, but she still can’t resist taking up Lunestra’s offer to visit the New Hampshire farm where the products are made.

In this fantasy melodrama, a harried executive at a successful cosmetics firm finds her strained marriage and demanding career lightened by a visit to the mysterious Garden of the Moon, where she meets a strange doctor who sells her moon-grown produce for her beauty treatments. She and her assistant then accidentally stumble on a hidden spacecraft and learn of the Lunarians' sinister plans for earthlings.

A busy businesswoman who runs a makeup company struggles with her troubled marriage and stressful job until she discovers the magical Garden of the Moon. There she meets an odd doctor who sells her special fruits and vegetables grown on the moon for her beauty products. She and her helper then find a secret spaceship by accident and discover that the moon people have evil plans for humans.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
