Ghost Powder

Description

Recently settled in their French chateau, U.S. Ambassador John Adams and his wife Abigail become concerned about their servants, who keep hearing loud ghost-like noises far into the night. The Adams hire a witch named Madame Pinipesse to exorcise the alleged ghost. When the witch mysteriously dies, John is convinced that her death was caused by sheer fright. Perplexed, John and Abigail set out to find what had the power to literally scare the witch to death.

In 1784 Paris, John and Abigail Adams discover their chateau is haunted by the ghost of the Duke of Dormant. They call upon Madame Pinipes, a woman known for her supernatural powers, to get rid of the spirit. But when she suddenly dies during the investigation, John and Abigail are left with a terrifying secret that now threatens them.

The spirit of the Duke of Dormant haunts the chateau in which John and Abigail Adams live in Paris in 1784. Madame Pinipes, a reputed witch, is summoned to exorcise the ghost. As the mystery deepens, she dies suddenly, leaving John and Abigail puzzled by the chilling revelation that now haunts them.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
