Guilty
Description
A small-town philosophy teacher gets wrongly blamed for a violent crime because someone mixed up his identity. When he tries to prove he's innocent, a lie detector test he agrees to take makes him look guilty instead. In the end, he's cleared of all charges when police catch the actual criminal.
Kenneth Case is identified in a lineup as the attacker who robbed a woman. Though innocent, he requests a lie detector test and the results say guilty. Psychiatrist Dr. Marian Knapp thinks she knows why, but Case's mother refuses to let him see Dr. Knapp again. Only when he expresses anger toward his mother does he understand how the detector lied.
A philosophy teacher in a small American town is accused of a brutal crime as a result of mistaken identification. His efforts to clear himself are complicated by the results of a polygraph test he voluntarily takes, which suggest his guilt. But he is finally exonerated when the real criminal is caught.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
