Harry’s Taxi and the ‘T’ Machine
Description
In a future nearing the 22nd century, a taxi driver and his grandfather, a laser technology pioneer, work on a transmigration device in their home. But when the inventor's wife disappears into the unknown after accidentally using the machine, he must grapple with his ambitions and the consequences of their invention.
In the late 2100s, a cab driver and his grandfather, who created early laser technology, build a machine in their house that can move people to other places. When the old man's wife accidentally uses the device and vanishes, he must face what his creation has done and decide what matters most.
An unemployed 21st-century scientist invents a transmigration machine. Harry and his wife’s grandfather have successfully sent a chair and case of wine through space, but they really want to try their invention with a human subject. How was Harry to know his curious wife Gladys would accidentally send herself flying into intermolecular space?
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
