In the Cards

Description

Frederic Lewis, based on actual historical documents. Empress Josephine of France has allowed “the cards” to foretell the fate of her first husband, her short and stormy marriage to Napoleon Bonaparte, and her ultimate fall from grace. Of course, the emperor finds this childish, especially when the cards dictate that if he and she were ever to divorce, that the almighty Bonaparte might die in battle—or worse, in exile.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
