Look Who’s Coming
Description
Harry Betts likes science-fiction programs while his wife Flo goes for daytime serials. One afternoon Flo is startled when her favorite show is interrupted by pictures of two humanoids who seem to be in some kind of electronic workshop. They warn Earth not to resist when their spaceship tries to land otherwise earthlings will face annihilation. At first Flo thinks the station has broadcast a portion of a science-fiction show by mistake, but the two humanoids keep reappearing, at least on Flo’s television set, repeating the same warning.
The everyday life of a small American town is seen through the eyes of Harry and Flo Betts, who have been married for 23 years. Their routine disagreements over television programs highlight the blending and straining of their personalities. When Flo sees a transmission about an impending alien invasion, she tries to convince Harry and her friends of its reality.
Harry and Flo Betts have been husband and wife for 23 years in a quiet American town. They often fight about what to watch on TV, showing how their different personalities both work together and clash. When Flo watches a broadcast warning that aliens are coming to invade Earth, she works to make Harry and their friends believe it's really happening.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
