Murder One

Description

A rich woman whose husband died is being threatened by her housemaid who knows she murdered him. The widow tries to make it look like the maid committed the murder instead.

A wealthy widow is being blackmailed by her maid for killing her husband. So she tries to frame her for her own crime.

Madge Telford, whose rich elderly husband allegedly died from a strange African disease, becomes convinced of Telford’s death: poison administered by Madge and hushed up by a friendly doctor. Determined to stop any attempts at blackmail by Harriet, Madge starts feeding herself small amounts of arsenic. By doing so she hopes to pin an attempted-murder charge on Harriet. But Marge must be very careful not to give herself an overdose.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
