Nefertiti Part II: To Kill a Pharaoh

Description

Akhenaton, like all new pharaohs before him, must enter the tomb of his ancestors and pray for guidance. He almost suffocates when the statues in the tomb start falling on him, but he follows the light he sees at an entrance to the tomb and is saved. He thanks the Sun God, Aton, for having shown him how to escape and proclaims that from now on Egyptians will worship only one God, Aton, instead of many. Aye, the prime minister and Nefertiti’s father, sincerely believes that Akhenaton has gone mad. He persuades the young pharaoh to drink some drugged wine and, when it has put Akhenaton to sleep, Aye places him in a coffin, which he plans to throw into the Nile River. But Nefertiti, while searching for her favorite cat, sees her father driving off in the coffin-bearing chariot and demands to know what he is up to.

Thriller about Akhenaten's rise to power and his insistence that the Egyptians abandon their multitude of gods and worship Aton alone.

A thriller following Akhenaten as he seizes control of Egypt and forces his people to give up their many gods to worship only Aton.
