Olive Darling and Morton Dear

Description

A stress-relieving journey into nature might prove fatal for a diffident accountant who ends up sharing a room with a self-proclaimed writer who can be a deadly robber in reality.

A shy accountant's relaxing nature trip turns dangerous when he rooms with someone who claims to be a writer but is actually a killer thief.

While driving to the Alverada Mountains, Morton Miller is stopped by a sheriff who searches his car for a stolen $109,000 payroll. When the sheriff finds no money, Miller drives on until his car breaks down near a cottage whose occupant, Elrod P. Smith, forces Miller at gunpoint to move in with him and to cook his meals. Smith claims to be a writer seeking privacy, but his gun is the same type that was used to heist the payroll.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
