Description
A spoiled rich, Beth, feels her step-mother is trying to replace her mother. She befriends ex-con Matt and has him pose as her fiancee so that he can kill her step-mother Millie for $10,000.
Wealthy and pampered Beth believes her stepmother wants to take her real mother's place. She makes friends with Matt, a former prisoner, and pretends he's her boyfriend so he'll murder her stepmother Millie for ten thousand dollars.
Beth Stillwell, who adored her mother, has nothing but contempt for her stepmother. She hires ex-con Matt Brewster to spend a weekend with her on her rich father’s estate, pretending that she and Matt are engaged. She also wants Matt to drown her hated stepmother in the estate’s swimming pool. Matt, who is broke, likes the $100,000 he is to receive for the murder, but when the time comes to do it, he can’t escape the feeling that someone is watching him.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
