Reunion Fever

Description

Most of the attendees of a class reunion end up sick with many of them dying. One member of the class gets a letter offering to sell him the remedy for the mysterious virus for $10,000.

The James Bowie Hotel has the best reputation in town until its grand ballroom is hired for a reunion dinner by a 1960 high school class. Afterward, 64 are hospitalized and 13 die, apparently poisoned by something they ate. Medical authorities are baffled. But then one non-hospitalized member of the class, Maynard Tarbell, receives an anonymous letter demanding $10,000 for the only known antidote. Unless he takes the antidote, the letter warns, Tarbell will die, too.

A deadly illness strikes most people at a high school reunion, killing many of them. One former classmate receives a letter from someone willing to sell him the cure for the strange disease in exchange for $10,000.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
