Silent Shock

Description

Although improving, Kathy still imagines conversations with her husband, her lover and her father—none of whom have visited her in the 15 years she has been hospitalized. Now, at a beach house with her private doctor, Kathy is intrigued and frightened by the sea, which brings her last memory of her father leaving by ship. When she imagines the ship returning, she walks out into the sea to meet it. Her doctor does nothing to stop her, even as she risks drowning.

A woman locked in a mental hospital speaks with people no one else can see while waiting for someone she loves to come back - but this person may not be real. The real question is whether she's truly crazy or if someone deliberately drove her to madness.

A female inmate of a mental asylum talks to invisible people and awaits the return of a beloved who might not exist. But the doubt lies in whether she is actually insane or made disturbed intentionally.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
