Sleeping Dogs
Description
What prize awaits a French officer who vows to train the weakest link in their unit, and turn him into a super soldier.
The conscripts Martinet assembles are a motley lot, and Louis XVI scoffs at his general’s promise to turn 600 peasants into better soldiers, and, later, the king’s own guards. Drills, swift punishment and more drills whip the new recruits into a crackerjack unit. The only thing Martinet doesn’t count on is the possible effect of replacing the soldiers’ minds with his will. General Jean Martinet commands with such harsh discipline that his name becomes part of the language.
A French military officer makes a promise to transform the most struggling soldier in his squad into an elite warrior, but what reward will he receive for this challenge.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
