Stairway to Oblivion

Description

In order to visit a distant relative, Julia Stephens travels to his remote mountain top estate named Oblivion. During her stay she attempts to unravel the mysteries surrounding the fate of the manor's previous visitors.

Julia Stephens goes to see a family member who lives far away at his lonely mountain house called Oblivion. While she's there, she tries to figure out what happened to the other people who came to visit the house before her.

Julia arrives to visit her Uncle Caleb, whom she's never met, and finds he lives on a remote mountaintop. His house "Oblivion" is macabrely decorated and he has a cat named Crepe Hanger. She wonders about the three graves in his herb garden. Neighbors Emily and John warn her to leave, but Caleb makes a move that convinces her of what he's really like.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
