Talk to Me

Description

John Marlow, who sometimes thinks his memory is failing, tells police lieutenant Frank Stillwagen he saw a youth running from the scene of a murder. Using Marlow’s description, the lieutenant picks up Benny Serafin, a young punk with a prison record, and finds the murdered man’s wallet in his pocket. Later, when Marlow learns that Benny is the son of the woman from whom he buys his groceries, he tries to change his story. But the lieutenant refuses to listen to him.

In order to ease his loneliness, an elderly man makes an anonymous tip to a crime hot line just to have someone to talk to. When his actions end up setting an innocent youngster to take the fall for a murder, he must find a way to set him free.

A lonely old man calls a police tip line just to chat with someone. But his fake tip gets an innocent young person blamed for murder, so now he has to figure out how to clear their name.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
