The Adventure of the Red-Headed League
Description
A detective assists his pal after crooks with red hair trick him out of money, but discovers they're planning something much bigger.
Sherlock Holmes helps a friend who has been swindled by a group of red-headed men. He uncovers a much larger scheme.
Jabez Wilson, a tobacconist, comes to Holmes and Dr. Watson with a story about how he was hired, because he was red-headed, to copy the Encyclopedia Britannia, working from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., six days a week. There was, however, one condition: He was not to leave his desk during those four hours. Watson thinks the story is preposterous, but Holmes, using his keen sense of deduction, sees a horrible fate for Wilson unless he follows Holmes' instructions to the letter.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
