Description
A man in jail can't stop thinking about his dad dying, even though his family keeps telling him his father is okay. Maybe he's so worried because his own father was the one who got him locked up.
Despite assurances from his family that his father is fine, a prison inmate becomes obsessed with his father's death. Could the unhealthy fixation stem from the fact that it was his father that had him incarcerated in the first place?
Danny Mercer is in prison because his father turned him in for check forgery. Now, Danny is convinced his stern father will die before he completes his sentence, to the increasing alarm of his mother and Warden Davola. Sniffles eventually kill his father, but when the Warden attempts to tell the boy, Danny already seems to know.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
