The Case of Chateau-Margaux

Description

A hurt horse saw a wealthy man vanish, and now the man's nephew gets arrested for it. A strange case involving expensive wine could be the only thing that saves him.

Horace Cramer agrees to house his nephew Phillip because of their kinship, although he dislikes him. After telling Phillip he plans to eliminate him from his will, Cramer sets out for Boston to see his lawyer. Three days later Cramer's horse arrives back to town, riderless and wounded. Charley Nash, Cramer's buddy, takes a search party into the woods to find Cramer, but, mysteriously, Charley is the only one who finds any clues, all of them incriminating Phillip.

A wounded horse is the only witness to the disappearance of a rich man and his nephew is apprehended for it. A mysterious case of costly wine might be his only salvation.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
