The Edge of the Scalpel

Description

A doctor must make a tough choice when he has to do a dangerous surgery on the man married to the woman he cares about.

Nurse Kerry Stewart swears to her selfish, unbelieving husband, Joel, a sickly invalid, that her romance with chief surgeon Kirk Malcolm is over. Soon Joel’s condition worsens and he is rushed to the hospital where Dr. Malcolm, disregarding the opinion of a colleague, decides to operate. When Joel’s wealthy mother discovers that another doctor advised Dr. Malcolm not to operate, she warns that he will be charged with murder unless her son survives the operation.

A surgeon is faced with a moral dilemma when he is forced to perform a complicated operation on the husband of the woman he loves.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
