The Face in the Coffin
Description
A young man and woman go to a funeral home to honor their dead relative, but they accidentally find the body of a government judge who was running a big court case against a crime boss. Now the criminals are chasing them and they have to run for their lives.
In a visit to the funeral home to pay their respects to a deceased family member, a young couple unwittingly discover the body of a federal judge in charge of a huge trial for a suspect in an organized crime case. Soon, they are pursued by the felons and must take flight.
Tim and Cathy Doyle visit a funeral parlor late one night to pay their respects to his deceased Aunt Emma. Somehow they manage to enter the wrong room and see in an open coffin not Aunt Emma, but a man who Tim, a member of the U.S. Justice Department, thinks, but is not certain, is a famous judge soon to hand down a decision on the building of a controversial gambling casino. What is certain, though, is that their inadvertent peek is going to kill them both.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
