The Favor of Women

Description

In the year 3039, Earth has long since depleted its natural resources and must import all requirements from other places. When the planet that provides them with Selco- the main source of the Earth's energy abruptly cancels all shipments, an astronaut is sent to initiate talks with the planet's queen.

Because Earth has only a 15-day supply of selko left, Captain Victor, a man who captivates women, is ordered to fly a spaceship to the planet Arana, which is the universe’s main source of this type of energy. Arana is ruled by the beautiful Queen Lura, who allows no foreigners on her planet. Victor, pretending that engine trouble necessitates a landing, is captured and brought before Lura, who decrees he must be sacrificed at the Temple of All the Gods.

By 3039, Earth used up everything it had and now gets all supplies from other worlds. When the planet that sends them Selco - Earth's main power source - suddenly stops all deliveries, they send a space traveler to talk with the planet's queen.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
