The Final Witness

Description

An average Joe becomes the accidental witness to the murder of a friend. But his nerves fail him in the witness stand and the murderer is acquitted. Soon after his friend starts paying visits much to his horror and only extreme steps will appease his spirit.

A regular guy accidentally sees his friend get murdered. When he has to testify in court, he gets too scared to speak up properly and the killer goes free. Later, his dead friend's ghost starts showing up, terrifying him, and he must take drastic action to make the spirit leave him alone.

The episode follows Oliver Gearhart and the circumstances surrounding his involvement as a witness to a significant event, with the narrative involving multiple characters including his wife Cassandra and other individuals named Rocky and the Ellsworth family members.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
