The Ghost of Andersonville
Description
Major Calvin Russell was wounded and imprisoned by the Confederates while following the orders of his commander, General Benjamin Cutler. Along with Russell, 1,500 other Union soldiers were killed or captured. Now, Russell has the opportunity to face the general and bring to light the details of that nightmare. But the general is found dead, and the only suspect, Major Russell, finds himself once more in a prisoner’s irons.
After finally being released from the Confederacy's most notorious prison camp, a detainee is requested to stand before a Union General. Despite being a potential presidential candidate, the man refuses due to a deep-seated grudge.
A prisoner walks free from the worst Confederate jail, but when a Union General asks to meet with him, the former captive says no - even though he could become president, his anger runs too deep.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
