Description
Dallas newspaper reporter Richard Leach convinces his editor he should be sent to Rylan, Texas, to write a feature story about an honest politician, Rylan’s mayor, who ruled the town unchallenged for over 40 years and who recently died. But when Leach starts questioning the town’s manager, the coroner, the mayor’s doctor and the mayor’s widow, he is told to get out—quick. When he refuses, the sheriff locks him up without giving him a chance to call his editor.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
