Description
A man grieves for his girlfriend who died in a storm while going out to buy a dress. He discovers painful secrets about who she really was.

Pierre goes to a confessional and blurts out the story of his love for Simone, whom he describes as an "angel with the insouciance, grace and beauty of a wood nymph." It was a love to which he dedicated everything: his worldly goods, his thoughts, his life, himself. Then one day Simone becomes mysteriously ill and soon dies. Not until he visits her grave does the heartbroken Pierre learn, to his horror, the reason for her death.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
