The Great White Shark

Description

Captain Gunner Trent agrees to take Texas millionaire J. H. Burden and his much younger wife, Eve, fishing for a 1,200-pound marlin. Burden turns out to be a drunken bully, suspicious of everyone—including Trent, whom he thinks has a yen for Eve. When they make their first strike, it’s not a marlin, but the white shark Trent has vowed to kill. Burden hooks the shark and it pulls him overboard. Trent dives in to save him and to settle his score with the great fish.

An arrogant millionaire takes his wife on a charter boat and the ship's captain is enthralled by her beauty. Despite his emotions, he cannot dispel the anger he feels as he seeks vengeance on the shark that claimed his limb.

A wealthy man who thinks he's better than everyone brings his wife on a boat trip, and the boat captain falls for her good looks. But even with these feelings, the captain can't shake his rage as he hunts the shark that took his arm.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
