The Horror of Dead Lake

Upon hearing of their inheritance, Claude and Polly Baxter are thrilled to be the proud new owners of Captain Doubloon's castle and its mysterious lake. Their pleasure turns to fear when they learn that the castle is home to Professor Micah, a demented embryologist crossing giant Venus flytraps with birds and their terror reaches fever pitch when they discover the creature that lives in Dead Lake.
When Claude and Polly Baxter find out they've inherited Captain Doubloon's castle and its strange lake, they're excited to own such an amazing place. But their happiness quickly turns to worry when they meet Professor Micah, a crazy scientist who lives in the castle and creates monsters by mixing huge meat-eating plants with birds. Their fear becomes complete terror when they find out what kind of creature is hiding in Dead Lake.
Claude and Polly Baxter are delighted when they inherit Captain Doubloon’s castle and the mysterious lake known as Dead Lake. However, their happiness turns to terror when they discover that the castle is inhabited by Professor Micah, a mad embryologist who is experimenting with giant Venus flytraps and birds. The real horror, though, is the creature that lives in Dead Lake, scaring not only the local residents but its creator.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
