The Horse That Wasn’t for Sale

Description

Hereditary equestrian passion notwithstanding, a woman has to put up her horses for sale after her father's death. All except one that is fabled to be the best to the dismay of her dad's rivals.

Despite her lifelong love of horses, a woman must sell her stable after her father dies. She keeps only one horse - the legendary best one that her father's enemies hate to see her have.

Crissie Runyon must sell the family horses in order to help pay off debts her recently deceased father accumulated. She refuses, however, to put one horse named Stargazer on the market because the obstreperous steed refuses to obey all but her commands. When the horse stomps a man to death, for what Crissie believes were good reasons, she makes an extreme move to prevent authorities from destroying the animal.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
