The Hound of the Baskervilles

Description

In this classic tale of mystery and terror, the notorious sleuthing duo of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson investigate the disappearance of a young lady, and its connection to the legend of a ghostly hound said to haunt the moors surrounding the Baskerville estate.

Sir Charles Baskerville is murdered, and Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson move in to solve the crime. The murderer apparently used an old superstition of death on the moor, by applying a gigantic hound to cover his misdeed. But when Selden, an escaped convict, is killed by mistake—the murderer thinking him to be Sir Charles' heir—Holmes and Watson can begin deducting who the guilty person is.

The famous detective team of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson look into a missing young woman and how it ties to stories about a supernatural dog that people say roams the wild lands around the Baskerville family home in this well-known scary mystery story.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
