The Island on Silver Tree Lake
Description
A lady is forced to catch a boat ride to an island resort after an accident with her car. The island has a strange name and she ends up as an unwilling participant in a mystery.
Pamela Allen fails to heed a policeman’s advice and drives too fast on a wet, curvy road. She is knocked unconscious when her car skids into an embankment and, when she awakens, is taken by motorboat to an island resort in Silvertree Lake. The next day she tries to return to her car, but is stopped by a vicious German shepherd dog. She will never, she is told by the resort owners, be allowed to leave the island.
After her car breaks down, a woman must take a ferry to a peculiar island getaway where she gets pulled into a puzzling case against her will.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
