Legend has it the pool beneath the Lady of the Mist waterfall resents anyone who tries to replace Meg Drayton as lady of the Manor. Ten years ago her brother's first wife fell in and vanished. Now Charles returns with a much younger second wife to take over. Infuriated, Meg plans to ensure the legend isn't broken.
It is said that the pool in which the Lady of the Mist waterfall cascades into reviles all who attempt to usurp the place of Meg Drayton, lady of the Manor. Her Brother Charles' first wife fell into the lake and was never seen again. Ten years later, he has returned with a young wife who plans to take over the manor. Enraged by their presumption, Meg concocts a scheme to fulfill the myth of the Lady of the Mist.
Legend claims that anyone who tries to replace Meg Drayton as mistress of the Manor will face the curse of the Lady of the Mist waterfall pool. Charles Drayton's first wife vanished into those waters years ago. Now Charles has come back after ten years with a new young bride who wants to run the manor. Furious at this challenge to her authority, Meg plots to make the Lady of the Mist legend come true.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
