The Last Days of Pompeii, Part Two: Thrown to the Lions

Description

When an earthquake shakes Pompeii, envious Julia gives money to priest Arbaces to get back at Marcus because he plans to marry Oriana. Arbaces tries to destroy Oriana by giving her drugs and kidnapping her, but Lydia, who works for Marcus, figures out the plan and tells Marcus about it. Oriana then looks for religious help after she stops following Isaiah's beliefs.

Oriana, who has been drugged and imprisoned inside his temple by the Egyptian high priest, Arbaces, escapes with the help of Marcus when the building is destroyed by an earthquake. A few hours later, Julia, the daughter of ship owner Diomed, offers gold to Arbaces to help restore his temple if he will work out a way of drugging Marcus, whom she would like to marry.

After an earthquake rattles Pompeii, jealous Julia pays priest Arbaces for revenge on Marcus's new fiancée Oriana. Arbaces tries to ruin her through drugging and abduction, while Lydia, Marcus's servant, sees through the plot and warns him. Oriana then asks for spiritual guidance after abandoning Isaiah's faith.
