The Legend of Alexander, Part Three: Divide and Conquer
Description
After King Philip of Macedon is murdered, his son Alexander strives to avenge his father, quell revolt, and prove that he alone can hold a crumbling alliance of Greek states. His rising power and ruthlessness dismay the difficult conservative court and even his educated secretary, who sees ruin ahead for Alexander and for Greece.
King Alexander has inherited a piecemeal realm held together by tribute and loyalty to his father. The new Macedonian leader’s first challenge is to unite his kingdom. His second goal is to bring the world under his rule, and to do that he must conquer Athens and bring Greek influence to all corners of the world.
When King Philip of Macedon gets killed, his son Alexander fights to get revenge for his father, stop uprisings, and show he's the only one who can keep the falling Greek alliance together. His growing strength and brutal methods worry the stubborn old-fashioned court and even his smart assistant, who thinks Alexander and Greece are headed for disaster.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
