The Little Old Lady Killer

Description

A policewoman struggles to make her fellow officers believe that an old lady is the vigilante killer who has been hunting down people who hurt animals.

A female cop must work hard to convince her male partners that the vigilante wanted for the death of several animal abusers is actually an elderly woman.

A vigilante elderly woman targets those she views as animal killers—a hunter, a dogfight organizer, and a negligent pet owner—using a .22 pistol. A female detective theorizes the killer's identity, despite ridicule from her male colleagues.

A hunter who has killed a 350-pound buck, a gambler who stages dogfights for his betting clientele, and a woman whose Doberman pinscher dies from heat prostration in her parked car are all victims of a .22 pistol fired by a little old lady with an aversion toward people who kill animals. The police are baffled by the murders, except for a woman detective whose notions about the killer’s identity make her the laughingstock of all the male members of her force.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
