The Mark of Cain

Description

In the Old West shortly after the Civil War, Kaintuck owns the fastest gun in Colorado and the worst reputation. He has killed his own brother, Abe, over a woman they both wanted. Nevertheless, the V Bar C ranch owner hires him to keep the sheepherders off his vast cattle grazing lands. All goes well until Kaintuck’s son Enoch, whom he has never known, challenges him to a gunfight—over a young woman who prefers the father, not the son.

A rancher hires a gunslinger to enforce his will. The rancher's daughter falls in love with him, making her betrothed angry enough to challenge him to a gun battle.

A cattle owner pays a gunfighter to make people do what he wants. When the man's daughter falls for the gunfighter, her promised husband gets mad and calls him out for a showdown.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
