The Meteorite

Description

A space rock slams into farmland, and a nearby college teacher quickly claims it as his own. But when he takes a closer look, he discovers the rock isn't what it appears to be. The teacher finds out the stone is really an alien ship with a living alien pilot trapped inside!

While returning home from an evening church service, Al Wilson and his wife, Carrie, see a cone of light in the sky and what they think is a meteorite land behind their barn. When the object, about 12 feet long, opens up, Al calls a scientist friend, Garret Smith. Together, they discover inside a person about the size of a 6-year-old boy with the face of an old man and elongated ears. He calls himself Kruck and says anyone who touches his “capsule” will be destroyed.

When a meteorite crashes into a farm field, it is immediately claimed by a local college professor. However, upon closer examination it becomes apparent that there is more to the meteor than what it seems. The professor soon learns that the rock is actually an alien spacecraft, complete with alien pilot inside it!

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
