Description
A prominent figure in a European faction is charged with sedition and soon comes to realize that the cause he championed only brought about oppression. His desire to step aside to make way for change is thwarted by all around treachery.
Karel Vortic, the leading scientist in a small dictatorial republic, is imprisoned and tortured for allegedly having planned to smuggle platinum out of the country. When authorities realize they made a mistake, they expect Vortic to return to his normal self and job. But they don't know Vortic very well.
A leading member of a European group gets accused of rebellion and discovers that the movement he supported only created tyranny. His wish to quit so others can bring reform gets blocked by betrayal from everyone around him.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
