Young Guy Peterson conspires with his doctor friend to open the grave of his true love, Victorine, who has been dead for a week. To their horror, they find Victorine still alive. They must reckon with her husband, Sir Giles Buckingham, who wants her dead so he can marry the wealthy widow who accepted his proposal three days after Victorine's "death."

Grief-stricken Guy Peterson persuades Dr. Gordon Rainey to help him go to a family vault to see his beloved, Victorine, believed dead. They find she is alive, but the tyrannical Sir Giles Buckingham insists on reclaiming his wife. The struggle for control leads to a dark climax.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
