Description
A detective follows a mysterious woman who claims to be a holy savior and the reborn spirit of an old Roman queen. She knows a rich businessman whose young nephew thinks she's running a scam.
Zenobia, who claims to be the ancient Queen of Palmyra but who in reality is a convicted forger, has millionaire Dudley MacIlhenny believing the world is soon coming to an end. To insure his salvation, Zenobia convinces him to turn his holdings into gold and to give the gold to her. Trying to put a stop to this madness, MacIlhenny’s nephew, Fatso, enlists the aid of private detective Charles Carswell. Soon Carswell is also convinced the world’s days are numbered.
A private eye chases an enigmatic woman who is a self-declared messiah and the reincarnation of a queen of ancient Rome. She is acquainted with a financier whose young nephew takes her to be on a con job.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
