The Sea Nymph

Description

Morgan Childs, a rich old man who is obsessed with owning beautiful ornaments, hires a driver named Scott Fallon to scan the sea for an ancient statue of a supposedly immortal sea nymph called Thallassia who died as a result of a triangular love affair. When Scott meets Susan Gentry, Morgan Childs’ ward, and they fall in love, Morgan is outraged and refuses to release her from his island. Both men know that when Thallassia faced the same choice it ended tragically, and Scott fears the same fate for Susan.

A greedy antique collector pays a deep sea diver to find an old figurine from a shipwreck. But the rather straightforward task throws up unexpected difficulties - a strange occupant dwelling in the shipwreck and a beautiful girl under the apparent care of the collector himself.

A money-hungry antique dealer hires an underwater explorer to recover an ancient statue from a sunken ship. But what seems like a simple job turns dangerous when they discover a mysterious creature living in the wreck and a lovely woman who appears to be under the dealer's control.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
