Professor Joshua Neale, an historian in his fifties who considers himself an expert on past catastrophes, is amazed when his new, young wife, Mady, a former actress, recounts in the minutest detail the sinking of the Titanic, the guillotining of the aristocracy during the French Revolution, and the world’s most destructive earthquake, in China’s Shen-Si province in 1556. She is unable to explain this most unusual talent; he hopes a psychiatrist will.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
