The Secret of the Aztecs

Description

A man's car breaks down in the desert and he encounters the ghost of an old man named Quetzal who shows him to the long lost Aztec Gold and instructs him to guard the Aztec's treasure from a being known as 'The Savage.' He can't convince anyone that he saw the ghost of the old man and everybody thinks he's insane.

When a guy's car dies in the desert, he meets the spirit of an elderly man called Quetzal who leads him to hidden Aztec Gold and tells him to protect the ancient treasure from a creature called 'The Savage.' Nobody believes he really saw the old man's ghost and everyone thinks he's crazy.

When his car stalls in the middle of the Jim Hudson is picked up by a man named Quetzal. Hudson has been warned that a killer is loose in the area, and Quetzal tells him that he, not Hudson, may be the killer’s next victim. He takes Hudson to a mountaintop cave where Montezuma’s treasure has been hidden. Quetzal, an old Aztec, explains that only he knows the hiding place, and according to tradition he must show someone else its location before he dies. Hudson soon wishes that the privilege never came to be.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
