The Serpent of Saris

Description

Immediately after an aspiring middleweight boxer, Dapper Danny Malloy, is found dead in his bed, a beautiful chorus girl, Jeannie Barr, and a big-time, much-in-debt gambler, Andy Blue, claim they had murdered him: Jeannie, because Danny had jilted her Blue, hoping to be jailed and thus safe from his many creditors. But police detective Jerry Roman believes neither of them. He knows something about Danny, a longtime friend, that nobody else does.

The god of athletics, Saris, exacts punishment on a pugilist. A retired police officer steps in to save him when another boxer's life is in danger.

When the boxing god Saris targets a fighter for revenge, a former cop must protect him and rescue another boxer whose life hangs in the balance.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
