The lines between reality and fantasy blur when an actor portraying a police detective on a television drama agrees to help a woman, investigate into the case of her missing husband.
When a TV actor who plays a cop on a show decides to help a woman find her missing husband, he can't tell what's real and what's make-believe anymore.
Mace Hacker, a tough cop in a television series, is confronted by a woman who begs him to solve an actual murder case. His producer thinks Mace has gone overboard in identifying with his television role. But then Mace always has felt a special obligation to his fans.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
