The Spy and the Traitor

Description

A fictional narration about the events surrounding Benedict Arnold's perfidy about West Point to Britain.

Benedict Arnold, a proud and ambitious officer in General George Washington’s army, becomes embittered by the threat of a court-martial and Washington’s reluctance to make him a general. After a severe reprimand from Washington, Arnold is appointed commandant of the fort at West Point, whose surrender to the British he later plots with Major John Andre—for a price: 20,000 pounds.

A made-up story about Benedict Arnold's betrayal when he tried to hand over West Point to the British.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
